As I was keen on a new laptop for a family member, I saw an Asus laptop with a list price of USD$349 (remember that this is BEFORE any bids are placed which brings the price down by 25c with each bid - typically the item will be @ 20% less than list anyway) So....When converted to Aussie dollar and including the shipping fee from US to OZ - the amount was A$470. So some checking on couple of the big, known online suppliers of laptops - in particular a Sydney based store that always claims to have the best pricing and "we wont be beaten" - wording featured heavily on their website and also specialises in Asus brand - came up with a local price of A$649 (+$25 shipping). Plus, to make the gap even better, the model listed locally was the model before the DubLi Asus and when I checked the local store didnt even have the model offered by DubLi ! So a saving of A$204 - but again this is BEFORE any bids are placed - so even if you purchased at the starting / list price you would be A$204 better off shopping at DubLi - wow! Once the word get around this is going to be the hottest shopping site to hit the Aussie & Kiwis shores!
